How to Care for an Epoxy Resin Table

An epoxy and wood table is durable, but a few simple habits keep it looking like the day it arrived.

Everyday cleaning

Wipe with a soft cloth and warm water with a drop of mild dish soap, then dry. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals such as bleach, acetone or ammonia-based glass cleaners, which can dull the finish.

Heat

Epoxy does not like very hot items. Always use trivets under pots, pans and hot dishes, and coasters under hot mugs.

Scratches

Use placemats when eating and felt pads under decor. Light surface scratches in the finish can usually be polished out; deeper ones can be refinished.

Sunlight

Strong direct sun over many months can fade wood and warm the resin tone. If the table sits by a big window, sheers or blinds during the brightest hours help.

Spills

Wipe spills promptly, especially wine, coffee and oils, so they don't sit on the wood edges.
